Skittle alley / function room hire

The skittle alley/function room can be hired for parties, family get togethers, corporate functions, christenings and weddings.* 

  • Without skittles the room can hold 40 people seated for a meal or max 100 standing for parties.
  • With skittles up the room can comfortably hold 24 people seated.
  • Corporate events/away days from 9am to 5pm.

  • A non-refundable deposit/hire charge of £50 is required to secure a booking for all. This can be paid in person or over the telephone.
  • All food and drinks must be purchased from us on the day and costs are payable on day of event. Please see the buffet menu or ask us for food options information
  • The room can also be booked for corporate use (meetings/away days) @ £12.95 per hour which will include tea/coffee station and biscuits.
  • Timings
    • You are welcome to come in and set up/decorate the alley before your event, if it is free – please ask a member of staff.
    • Daytime hire until 12 noon - 6pm. Evening 6pm to 11pm (10.30pm Sundays)
    • Corporate events/ away days from 9am to 5pm

NB Our neighbours have requested that any music stops at 11pm please

  • If a celebratory cake is involved we will happy to store for you until required, please bring your own knife. We can provide plates/napkins if required. Ordinary candles only please (no sparkler types as they set off our fire alarm!)
  • Please make your guests aware that it is advisable to pre book any taxis that may be required especially late at night as service to the village can be unreliable. Cars may be left in the car park overnight if required.
  • White tac only for any decorations put on the walls please.
  • Unfortunately we can no longer allow table confetti as it can cause damage to our glass washer

Buffet Menus 2020

Food options – please choose one option for all of your party/guests

Final food orders and group numbers will need to be submitted no later than 3 working days before your event please. Please advise us of any allergies or food intolerances.

Option 1 Cold Buffet @ £8.95 per head

Sandwiches – four varieties on granary and white bread
(tuna and spring onion, cheese and pickle, egg mayo, ham and tomato)

Vegetable crudités with hummus dip

Sausage rolls

Vegetarian mini quiche

Chicken satay

Vegetable spring roll with sweet chilli dip

Option 2 Hot buffets available @ 11.50 per head

Option 3 Main menu

For parties up to 20 people it is possible to order from the main pub menu.

Extras

  • Dessert @ £3.95 per head - either a choice of cakes or selection of gateau or cheesecakes. Individual puddings from the main menu are charged at menu price.
  • Tea/coffee station @ £2.00 per head or with biscuits £2.50 per head

  • All event dates are subject to availability
  • Your booking will not be confirmed until we have received the deposit. A receipt will be issued.
  • Numbers attending, menu choices and special dietary requirements must be received by The Four Horseshoes minimum 7 days prior to the event.
  • Payment in full for the food/meal must be made on the day of your event.
  • If you have any concerns regarding food allergens please ask a member of staff who will ensure that are provided with detailed information on menu dishes.
  • Guests under the age of 18 will be expected to adhere to UK licensing laws; no alcohol to be bought or consumed on the premises.
  • Any guest found or suspected of drinking alcohol not purchased on the premises will be asked to pay £25 ‘corkage’ fee.
  • The Four Horseshoes does not allow guests to bring table confetti, aerosols, streamers or party poppers
  • The Four Horseshoes reserves the right to cancel any event for any reason at its discretion – when all deposits and payments will be refunded.
  • The Four Horseshoes reserve the right to refuse entry to the premises and to charge the company, organiser or individual for any damages caused by unreasonable behaviour.
  • All prices quoted are subject to change and are correct at the time of advertisement/booking and include VAT at the current rate.
